How long is the Course?
Course is designed to be completed in 30 hours, which is in line with the state requirement. But guess what? You don't have to do it all in one go! Feel free to pause, log out, and come back whenever it suits you. We've got your back with saving all your progress, so you can pick up right where you left off.

Just a heads up about the quizzes! After you finish each chapter, there'll be a quiz waiting for you. It's super easy, just 3 questions, and they're all multiple-choice.
Final quiz has 50 questions with 40 correct answer to pass.
What if you fail the quiz? No worries, you get unlimited attempts to pass the quiz :)
How do I get my Certificate?
The original certificate will be issued by the our Partner School locally based in Utah State.
What to do next?
All applicants are required to take a state-approved drivers education course, which includes the following:
• 30 hours of Utah approved online/home study course or 27 hours of high school classroom instruction, or 18 hours of commercial/private school
• 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction.
How do I get my learner’s Permit? https://dld.utah.gov/learner-permit/
1. Complete the driver license application online.
2. Take an approved Drivers Ed course (required for ages 15 – 18). Once you have applied for your learner permit you can enroll in a driver education course (not required for age 19+.)
3. Take the free practice test. This will help prepare you not only for the written test and driving test, but also for the road ahead of you behind the wheel.
Once you have completed the application you will be directed to schedule a learner permit appointment for your visit.
4. Ace your written test!
Get 24 out of 50 multiple choice questions correct on the Utah driver license test to pass. The good news is you get unlimited attempts until you pass.
How to obtain a full unrestricted license:
Holding period
Students 15-17 of age when they apply for their Utah learner permit, they must hold their learner permit for six (6) months before being able to apply for a Utah driver license.
If the applicant turns 18 during the holding period they may apply for their driver license upon turning 18.
The six (6) month learner permit holding requirement does not apply to an applicant who is age 18 or older at the time of application for the learner permit.
Take the Driving skills test
You have three (3) options for completing your driving skills test:
• Schedule the test with the Driver License Division.
• Complete the test through your driver education course.
• Test with a Third Party Road Tester (click this link and then the top grey button) and pay their fee to be tested.
Be sure to bring the following documents with you to the Driver License office:
• Bring proof of identity (name and date of birth.)
• Bring social security card.
• All proof of driver education completion
• Bring two (2) documents of Utah residence address.
You will be required to take a photo and pass an eye test on arrival.
If you fail the driving skills test you will be expected to practice before taking another test. You may take only one (1) driving skills test in a day. Failure to pass the required tests in three (3) attempts will result in having to pay another fee.
All tests must be completed within six (6) months from the day you pay your fee. Any person may be asked to complete a driving skills test if the examiner feels the applicant’s ability to drive may be in question.
